A round up of how the Juniors did last week

The junior section enjoyed great success this week with 7 wins and 3 defeats from 10 games played.
2 league wins on the bounce now for the U7. 3-1 down at Bromley Cross Genesis dug deep and secured a fantastic 4-3 win.
After an unsettling week the U8 pulled together and shocked high flying Standish Panthers with a superb performance which earned them a 4-2 away from home victory.
The U9 started well enough and were within touching distance of Golborne Sports at 3-2 down just before half time. Unfortunately defensive lapses resulted in goals being conceded to easily and the Sports club went onto win 7-2.
The girls eventually overcame a stubborn Golborne Sports outfit 8-3 but had to work hard to secure the points. Good day at the office as their nearest challengers also won to keep the table tight.
In the U10 Chairman’s cup the U10 Alpha brushed aside Horwich RMI whites in convincing style 8-0 to move into the last 13.
A friendly between U10 Beginning and U10 Creation put on show a lot of new players to observe. Creation took the first third of the game 1-0 but then Beginning moved to a more usual formation and took the last two thirds 9-1.
The U10 Sunday team met Tyldesley Tigers in a hastily arranged friendly.
Tigers without doubt have improved since their last visit to the LSV and defended very well in midfield and defence. It took a few wonder goals and flashes of brilliance to secure the first few goals and then there was no stopping Genesis. Final score 9-0 but the Tigers never gave up and played very well.
The U14 met section B side Bolton County Colts and marched into the next round after a hard fought 3-2 win.
A tough visit to Edgerton stopped the U18 fine league start dead in its tracks with the home side grabbing the 3 points on offer with a 4-2 win.

Under 18’s vs. Edgerton            4-2 defeat.
