Will someone from Leigh East be at this meeting? It would be interesting to hear of their impressions of the people running the LSV, and their experience of dealing with them. Going forward it would be to the advantage of both clubs to present a united front.

What is puzzling me, is Im aware that there are a lot of grants etc available to projects that benfit the community of this borough, this club (with its youth set up ) obviously benefits the borough.i pressume the lsv was built with some of this community money,as the lsv is supposedly a place for the community of this borough (but obviously it isnt).what i want to know is what the feck are the mps, councillors etc doing to save this valuable asset to our community?...im at work on the 4th of feb and cannot attend the meeting, but will someone please ask these questions. there are also grants from the football asociation working in tandem with community projects..... the main question is THE LSV of what benefit is that rip off of a building to our community?. An earlier post from Howard linked to AFC Telford, has someone contacted anyone from telford to tell us how they managed what they have done?. Will any of the LSV team be at the meeting to tell us what money I.E Grants they used to build this stadium?..as i see it,we need a grant to build a stadium for US otherwise the loss of Leigh genesis fc and the youth set up attached to it will be a MAJOR loss to the town of LEIGH.

Why are we meeting at Leigh East. What is the connection with LSV? Incidentally where is it? Does someone there have an interest in who uses LSV? Does the Board have a connection with Genesis or LSV?

Leigh East is the complex to the North of the main ground (behind the car parks at the North Stand end of the ground). It is part of the LSV and as such they have to deal with the same people Genesis do. The reason I asked the question is that I happened to see an article in one of the Leigh papers last year reporting that Leigh East were in dispute with the LSV over increased rent demands and were being threatened with being kicked off their ground (sound familiar??). They were also forced off the Hilton Park site at the same time Genesis were and I was just wondering what their impressions of the LSV are and the people running it, and also if they could offer any help or make any suggestions.

i was at the meeting and i can honestly say i still do not understand what i heard. the way i understand it......members of the board created their own company and bought the land that our old ground was built on, they made a decision to move to the lsv and put the land up for sale, without a busines plan.....didn't correctly read the terms and conditions that lsv set , only 51 sporting matches can be played at the lsv a year!! this has caused our major sponsor to quit, lsv will not change the terms and conditions, the board now want us to find new ways of generating more money so they can go back to lsv and offer more money to make them change the terms and conditions that we have already been told can not be changed. i don't want to sound too negative but i'd like a few basic questions to be answered if poss who gets the money if our old ground is sold? are the board taking a wage from the club? who is going to take responsibility for this mess? if we do manage to raise more funds, can we trust this board to use it properly? if 4 different business proposals had been rejected why did we still go ahead with the move? why was healdy the only member of the playing staff present? who the hell spends £16 million pounds on a sports venue that is unable to host one game a week? obviously facts can be interpreted in many ways, if i have mis-understood anything that was said on thursday i apologise. i would also like to thank mary. the passion shown by both her and healdy was pleasing to see. it appeared they are refusing to let the club die without a major fight.

Good stuff Bobby. Mary and Healdy are 100%.... and there are a few board members who are also trying to keep the ship afloat after all the high flyers have been and gone.
I could not make the meeting, but the release afterwards was a joke..... a list of questions asked.... but no answers, that's been the problem all along.
I hope the club survives.... we have enough points to survive in this league, but we haven't got enough pounds or fans to survive as a club, that's the worry .
