Today was my second leigh game, i went to see the same ressiliance and passion by players manager and supporters that i saw against cammell lairds. It seems though that the 2 fingers up to everyone and bulldog spirit must still be at chorley. Although leigh didnt disgrace themselves they were a million miles away from competing against an average team. We would,nt of scored if we were still playing now after missing that early chance. So why change the manager who said he would carry on without pay, because surely its just a matter of time before we,re in the relegation zone and struggling again. WHATS HAPPENING? is mr speakman still chairman when he said he was finished last week. He was there and telling the new manager to go and clap our fans, still pulling the strings. Is it a plan to get rid of all the good players and wages but stay involved and then maybe give these players a little money in the weeks ahead. these players have given good will and walked away because they think theres no money. Is Mr Speakman going to come back in. If so the ex players have been duped and the club will never compete for trophys. A response would be welcome from mr Speakman to confirm this is not the case and that he has the club at heart with or without him

I was unable to be at the game today but my guess is that there won't be much / any response to this thread until tomorrow, so bide your time, my good man.

I havn't responded because, having read it twice, I cannot work out the point you are making. Please could you simplify it for simpletons such as myself.
Many Thanks Ian

the point is, IF ALL TIES WITH THE CLUB WERE SEVERED LAST WEEK AND HE STEPPED DOWN AS CHAIRMAN WHY IS HE INSTRUCTING MERRICK TO CLAP THE FANS> IS HE STILL IN CHARGE ? why should anybody listen to him and in effect take orders from him when by his own admission has stepped down as chairman. IF HE IS STILL IN CHARGE THEN WHY HAS HE SAID OTHERWISE< I SMELL A RAT

But nobody else has taken charge 'fishy' and at least he isn't a faceless moaner such as yourself!
And, for what it's worth, the players never stopped battling today and I, for one, was proud of every single player in a white shirt today, and the fans were excellent as well.

Dom resigned as chairman. That doesn't mean he has lost interest in the club. He is still writing cheques where necessary to keep us going. I still don't see the point you are trying to make.
Please explain!

I have to agree with you, Matt. The team that played today gave everything and I also could not fault their efforts. They were playing a team that had more experience ( ex S****horpe striker Steve Torpey played for Ferriby ). Dominic is quite entitled to continue watching the team and to be invoved with the team.

Dominic is in charge of the club at this time because the club has no board of directors to take over yet. He has stopped putting money into the club and will not be doing so again.....ever. This is not a gimmick to get rid of players on contracts. It is a sound financial decision made by a guy who was putting his personal finances into a club that was haemorraging money due to having no ground to play at.
No matter what player comes to this club, no matter what chairman comes to this club, no matter what manager comes to this club the one constant is the fans. No one is more important than the fans.

Fishy,
As I said in the update thread a couple of days ago, there is currently nobody willing to take over the role of chairman of the club. If I were to leave completely now, the club would not have the funds to fulfil its fixtures.
I am currently looking for the right people to take over and take the club forward and when I find them I will take a step back.
I understand that "a rat" and some great conspiracy theory would make a much more interesting story, but it is really as simple as stated above.
I will always have an interest in the club, because I have put a lot of time into it over the last year and for that reason I want to make sure that it goes forward in the right hands.

I think you must remember that there are so many cases where the rats have had a foundation that you have met with someone in Fishy who cannot get his head round the fact that the truth is plain and simple with no hidden meaning!!
I have already emailed Mary but will repeat on here the thanks of all at North Ferriby for the warm welcome and excellent hospitality laid on by yourselves. The enthusiasm of your loyal supporters on the bank in the second half was great to see. We hope that you are able to pull together and survive so that we can offer you a similar welcome next April.
